Setup and Fees

Setup Requirements

My presentation is supplemented with an extensive series of slides generated on Windows Power Point. It lasts anywhere from 1 hour to 1 1/4 hours. I have the Power Point loaded on a flash drive but can bring it on a Toshiba laptop if necessary, I will need both a screen and projector. If my PC is required, I will require a cable attachment to go from the PC to the projector. I have found the presentation flows well when I can stand in front of the audience and advance the slides with a manual remote control. However, I can deliver the talk from behind a podium.

In addition, it is helpful for me to know the background or interests of the audience as well an estimate of number that will be in attendance. I have an authentic surgical kit for display so the audience can see some of the surgical instruments available during the war. It belonged to a Confederate physician from Wytheville, Virginia.

Fees and Expenses

Speaker fees and travel expenses are negotiable. My primary interest is to engender an understanding of the contributions the Civil War made to the advancement of medicine and creating an appreciation of the sacrifices made by all involved (the physicians, the wounded, the volunteer nurses, etc.) that benefit us today.

Please contact me to discuss the above details and possible dates.
